We started the day by the river Nahr El Kaleb (Dog River), this was a point where armies who conquered the area engraved
their successes within the cliff face. There are entries as far back as Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II (13th century B.C.), Napolean
III, and as recent as WWII.

We then headed deep into the mountains to Faqra, where we were engulfed with low cloud cover as we stepped back
into history. Just when you thought nobody could build a city so far up in the mountains, ruins of Roman and Byzantine origin
appeared before us!
