Some of the real characters which evolved from the group and set life long memories, some good, some not so good!! haha

Paul "Shorty" El-Chaar

"Go Shorty - its your birthday!"

Paul El-Chaar
Mr "Hair Extensions", Paul, or better known to the group as "Shorty" was the man to always step up and make us laugh.
Whether he was dancing with kids in the restaurant, singing on the bus, telling us true stories on the microphone, Paul was definitely someone who could touch a nerve with us. His video camera captured everything, his unusual T-shirts captured the eye of the local lebanese people, and his smile captured our hearts.

"Click" the link below for a video of Paul on the dancefloor in Zahle as he rises into the form of the Karate Kid! Something which even the local waiters could not hold back their laughter!

Maroun Sukkar

Maroun Sukkar
Maroun was an under-estimated character of the trip, a bit quite at first. Though, as the trip matured, Maroun began to open up and really start to make the bus laugh with sarcastic jokes about others, and was never short of a comeback to any words spoken to him. Whether he was playing cards or smoking the argile, Maroun was definitely one of the characters on the trip.

Father Bernard

Father Bernard
Well, what can be said of this man. I don't think anyone could question his ability to bring this group together, his passion for the group was amazing.
He made us laugh with every word he said, whether he was waking us up with reminder phone calls to come to breakfast at 6.30am, or singing songs on the bus or just making sure we didn't miss one opportunity to learn about our country of Lebanon. He was there for us every minute of the trip, and is still with us today, as he still is able to gather our group together nearly a year after the trip. I believe Father Bernard will never be forgotten by any members lucky enough to travel on this trip.

"Dr Joe"

Dr Joeseph Graish (Dr Joe!)

Dr Joe was never short of a word and a microphone seemed to always be near to him. He always had something to say whether we were on the bus, having breakfast or on the dancefloor. Whether he was singing classical lebanese songs, or quoting "Khalil Gibran", or providing the group with health tips to stay healthy on the tour, Dr Joe was there for us.
